Learning 06 : Strategies to handle indisciplined ...

  • Stay Calm and Neutral: Avoid shouting, losing your temper, or showing extreme frustration. Treat rules and consequences like a business transaction rather than an emotional battle. [1, 2, 3]
  • Set Clear, Firm Limits: Establish unambiguous rules and state "no" firmly when necessary. Do not cave in to tantrums, whining, or arguments. [1, 2, 3]
  • Stop Enabling and Make It Uncomfortable: Stop immediately fulfilling every demand or buying things to appease them. Make them work, save, or earn privileges (like phones, tech, or extra items) through household chores or good behavior. [1, 2, 3]
  • Enforce Consistent Consequences: Follow through every single time a rule is broken. Use logical or action-based consequences (such as cleaning up or losing screen time) rather than harsh physical punishment or public shaming. [1, 2, 3]
  • Separate the Child from the Behavior: Address the specific action (e.g., "That behavior is unacceptable") rather than labeling the child as a "brat," which can cause them to live up to the negative label. [1]
  • Teach Emotional Regulation and Gratitude: Help them name their feelings, point out ungrateful or entitled remarks gently, and model patience and gratitude yourself. [1, 2]

Learnings 05

One of the disciples of Krishna, the then Emperor of India, was driven from his kingdom by his enemies and had to take shelter with his queen, in a forest in the Himalayas, and there one day the queen asked him how it was that he, the most virtuous of men, should suffer so much misery. Yudhishthira answered, ‘Behold, my queen, the Himalayas, how grand and beautiful they are; I love them. They do not give me anything, but my nature is to love the grand, the beautiful, therefore I love them. Similarly, I love the Lord. He is the source of all beauty, of all sublimity. He is the only object to be loved; my nature is to love Him, and therefore I love. I do not pray for anything; I do not ask for anything. Let Him place me wherever He likes. I must love Him for love’s sake. I cannot trade in love.’

Learnings 04 -Sumblimating the Ego by Google Gemini

[1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Learnings 02

 1. Chanchal mann (mind) is the root cause of all sorrow.

2. Learn to tame the 'mann (mind)' to live with 'Aman and Chain'

3. When you act, find why you are doing this, is it due to some of your weaknesses like anger, jealousy, etc? If it's so, its not probably the best course.

Learnings 01

 1. Approach someone by first knowing yourself. You will know others automatically. If you are honest then you will know if someone is corrupt. You are empathetic , then you know someone is cruel.

2.  Start doing now.

3. Be  open to the  maximum pain that can be inflicted upon you. No pain , no gain. Be open for physical , mental and psychological pain. Then you will learn . It will open doors for innovative things in your life.

4. Increase maximum knowledge.

5. Learn to say NO without guilt.

6. Always do what you think is right. This is the only way to be decisive.

7. Relax sometimes and have fun.

8. Write a good piece for yourself , not for others, money or something materialistic.

9. There is one thing which you need to re learn (points mentioned in other blog entries)- Allow others to stay the way as they are. This will save you from being crackhead !!

10. Pay attention to every thing you do. When you talk pay attention to other person; when you study , study with full attention; when you review, pay attention to each details. This will save relationship, career and finance.

It is called Sati or mindfulness in Buddhist philosophy. 'Right attention' is one of the 8 fold paths that Buddha philosophy teach.

Students should be taught to read slowly, sit with ambiguity and listen without interrupting. A mind that is concentrate can find peace and mind that is not, can never find peace.

When mind is turtled : How to prevent it?

I use term "turtled". Mind knows well when it goes turtled. There are some forces in the world, and around you that makes the mind turtled. The origin of these forces are-

1. Negativity around you

2. Persistent bullying behaviour by someone.

3. Adamant attitude

4. Ego and arrogance

Take little steps towards it.

1. Think positive fore every few minutes . This stops recurring negative thoughts to linger on. For this faith is required.

2. Resist bullying in small steps. Take positive steps from your side. Respond rather than over react.

3. Say, but don't control.

4. Lessen it by taking small steps.

I cam across very beautiful article in Hindu over how mind can be prevented from being turtled.

Read it and then you know how turtling can be prevented and better be checked at its incipient stage.

Bus Journey Diaries : 01 Being Human

I kept sitting beside a window pane on a bus, to ask myself, "These trees look very beautiful, passing by. A cool breeze was also blowing though. Its spring season to be more apt."

Although I feel the wind brushing my hair, I try to rewind the good old days with my friends at college campus. I feel , I have come so far in life, but not so far from my college days.

Some of my friends were Adhyan , Rajiv and Rahul Kushreshta,  Ravi Yadav, I rarely talk to them now. But then, If I had asked them to take a bus ride, they would have taken it as a great refresher activity. I remember going to zoo on a Vikram auto where all my friends were loaded with our friends.

We took the visit for fun. I dont remember much details, but I realise how we enjoyed those simple ways of passing time amidst pressure of all mid sems and end sems. And then we would return to the campus at IITK.

Some of my friends suggested that passing time in campus was more refreshing than going outside the campus. It felt more energetic and refreshing. On one occasion of college festival , we roamed on the streets just hooting around, when the lights were out. This scared a lot of people, who were out there seriously for a troll !

We did not bother, if it was making others feel intimidating, so much was our guts. With time, this lessened, and it has stopped at all now. Now we have become sensible citizens. We have started behaving more nuanced. However, those rough edges of doing insensible activities, are still there in some form.

I still, park my bike on wrong side, fret over insensible stuff, undermine the less efficient work by my subordinate. Sometimes, while taking a journey on bus to my workplace, it feels, with the wind, brushing against my hair, its good to make mistakes, be a sensible human being with all the insensitivities, not understandable to others.

First post in 2026

This is my first post in 2026. Lot happened by in year 2025. Many things I learnt, unlearnt.

Sometimes I don't know myself what I want from life?

1. What is my ambition?

2. What are my goals ?

3. How do I fulfil them?

4. What is love?

5. Why I sometimes feel hollow from inside?

6. What is the purpose of life?

7. How do I enjoy each moment?

Khushi

Aj samjh me aya ki pyaar kya hota hai aur khusi kya hai. Peeche mud ke dekhta hu , aj mere paas wo sab hai jo mujhe chahiye tha. Ek job chahiye thi jisme mai logo ki madad kar saku. Aur wo sab chahiye tha jisse mujhe khusi mil sake. Aaj bhagwan par vishwas ho gya ki wo hain, wo hame sab dete hain jo hame chahiye. bas intejaar karna hota hai aur ankhe khuli rakhni hoti hai. Jab bhi man me nirasha aye aur lage ki ye mere sath kya ho gya? Tab bhagwan ki madad mangni chahiye . Wo hi hain jo hamesha hamaare sath rehte he aur madad karte rehte hain.

Kanto Ki Chubhan

Is duniya me kho se gue hum,

Apna Vajood pehchan na paaye hum

Chubhte hue kaanto me apne seene ko paya har dam,

lahu nikalta raha

laal rang dekhte rahe hum,

kuchi bhi na kar paye hum .

Jab se hosh sambhaala

kuch paane ki chahat me

hamesha mashakkat karte rahe hum

kabhi haasil hua

kabhi nahi

fir bhi haar na maane hum.

Seene me ye kasi chubhan hai

is kaante ke dard se nikalna chahte the hum

fir bhi yeh chubhta raha

is seene se nikaal na paye hum.

Ab bas yahi hai sahaara

kanto ki chubhan me jeena seekh gye hum,

use nikal kar koi fayda nhi,

kyuki inhi kanto se banta he jivan.

Happiness

Sometimes a decision requires courage. You may fear over the consequences of the action. You brood over them. Finally leading to no action. Also, crisis of conscience may jeopardise your effort to take action.

According to Bhagwad Gita, inaction should be avoided. Consicence can be resolved through clear thinking and letting the muddy water to settle.
Also, once you take action, you will feel deep sense of satisfaction and happiness.

At this point, you have no fear and no worries of consequences. Also, whatever may be the result, you will feel : this is the best course to take.
