Every problem can be solved in a very efficient way by reaching at the root cause of problems. Whether he is an engineer, a doctor or a civil servant or a judge - he can not take apt decisions until he has speculated the root cause of problems.
When you are a doctor, your diagnosis of the patients root cause of illness/sufferings should be correct. A patients symptoms help you in reaching the diagnosis. Until you are clear with the basics of medicine you won't be able to reach to the final result which is correct. Similarly, there are many engineers around but very few are actually capable of giving the correct diagnosis of the problems occurring in machines. But have you been able to guess why is there a difference between the person's ability to diagonise correctly and his actions to solve the problem? The answer is here. Let us take example of a NOT-VERY-GOOD-Engineer. Right from beginning of his career , he was never interested or least interested in being an engineer(for e.g.) but now he is an engineer. May be due to various circumstances/situations that may have let him to take engineering as a career. So, since his passion was not engineering, he was not doing well. Since a person's passion was not medicine, he was not a very good doctor. Since, a person's passion was not research, he could not be a very goof professor.
Here, I will give more insight on this topic later when I speak more about Schindler's List(1993). The movie which I recently watched and I liked it very much.
From few days I am thinking on how the livestock -cows and buffaloes can be removed from the roads of Jamshedpur where they move frequently and cause serious issues for traffic. I know the answer lies in going to the basics/root cause of this problem.
